This drawing of a crucified figure relates to several others, made around the same time that depict various religious scenes including a Deposition. Another comparable suspended figure appears in one of Vaughan’s very early photographs, taken at Hampstead Ponds in 1933 (see Gerard Hastings, Keith Vaughan: The Photographs, p. 46).
