Keith vaughan: Group of Figures, with Study of a Head, 1951

Pencil on Paper
25.2 x 20 cm
Framed in oak
Studio stamp lower right of main drawing

Artist’s estate, Dr. Patrick Woodcock, private collection

Vaughan filled his many sketchbooks with figure studies. More often than not, the human form is redrawn in overlapping outlines, as though he was feeling his way towards a resolution, while attempting to suggest a quality of animation.
